MandMDirect.com
MandMDirect.com
The challenge As the UK's biggest online retailer, MandMDirect.com wanted to increase their active customer base and reactivate lapsed customers. The insight Through customer research and some clever data analytics, we identified why customers had lapsed and what would motivate them to buy again. Our interrogation uncovered some enlightening insights about customers and by combining these with segmentation, we identified where the greatest opportunities for reactivation lay. The solution With a clearly segmented base and fresh insights, we developed a multi-channel communications programme with key messages, offers and timings. The result The initial test was so successful it was immediately rolled out across the full base and adopted as an ongoing Reactivation programme. Not only did MandM experience an unprecedented response, average transaction value increased by a sunny 35%.

Cotswold Outdoor Ltd
Cotswold Outdoor Ltd
The challenge Cotswold Outdoor came to us with an interesting challenge – how do you deliver significant incremental revenue from your existing online and mail order customer base, without resorting to Acquisition? And how do you do that while reducing the reliance on promotional activity? The insight Having built a single customer view of Cotswold Outdoor’s data, our data and planning teams interrogated it using a combination of clever analytical techniques. This fresh analysis drove a segmentation that was clearly defined, workable and deliverable within Cotswold’s complex business context. The solution With a segmented customer base, we developed profiles and customer journeys for each group. Our communications planners then designed detailed programmes for those groups with the greatest potential, bringing us as close as possible to one-to-one marketing, and driving out the incremental value Cotswold needed. The results We can’t share the results of this award-winning work with you here due to client confidentiality, but if you’d like to know more click the talk to us link below. The Army
The Army
Marketing problem Recruitment is a major focus for the Army. Our challenge is to maximise the conversion of advertising response into confirmed appointments at Recruiting Offices. Insight & identified opportunity An audit of existing contact strategies and research enabled us to identify the need to engage with the audience through a mix of communications channels – direct mail, email, telephone, SMS and field. Our technical solution was to design and implement an operational interface with the Army’s central database to support this new Candidate Management Programme (CMP). This solution ensures all data is handled and managed within the client’s data security guidelines, and allows us to build and refine propensity models, and prioritise contacts and budget allocation. Solution The new CMP takes all recruitment data (from many sources) and nurtures candidates through to recruitment appointment. Ongoing data analysis delivers insight for continued performance improvement and allows us to efficiently maximise enlistment uplift and improve ROI. We’ve automated processes to ensure speed and accuracy of enquirer data, and apply sophisticated business rules to ensure every candidate’s Army experience is managed appropriately. We create communications to support the client’s above the line and digital campaigns, direct enquirers to web content or field activities, and deliver each message through their preferred communication channels. We’ve developed a suite of automated reports to provide stakeholders with performance updates, and pipeline potential to support daily operational needs. In addition, we provide regular analysis including insight into the impact of marketing initiatives, communication channels, candidate quality, profiles and a range of specific KPIs. Results As a result, 47% of all enlisters have passed through the CMP programme, and a candidate contacted within the calling activity is 57% more likely to enlist than one that can’t be reached.

NHS Kensington and Chelsea
The challenge Kensington and Chelsea has some of the worst statistics for oral health in the UK. Our brief was to build belief and confidence in NHS dental services within the borough, with the aim of increasing the number of residents visiting an NHS dentist for regular check-ups and treatment. We also wanted to maximise opportunities to capture and convert new patient data into new patients. Given the high proportion of ethnic minority communities in the borough, any solution we proposed needed to be simple and visually strong to ensure our message was received and understood. The insight Most people have concerns about visiting the dentist, and many wrongly believe that access to NHS dental services is very limited. Making an appointment for a check-up is a low priority and barriers, such as fear of the dentist, difficulties with child care and concern about language, make the challenge even greater. The solution We developed clear, simple and engaging creative that worked across outdoor and community media to generate awareness and drive response. The message was clear: The NHS has a dentist to suit you – all you have to do is register. Data collection was designed to enable us to optimise new patient conversion. Our data services team created a lead handling process which allowed us to forward leads to dentists based on prospective patient preferences. This process took leads from multiple sources and was designed to meet the strict data security criteria laid down by the client. We also created a suite of marketing support materials accessible via an online toolkit, which the dentists used to follow up the leads they received from the campaign. The result The campaign generated an 800% uplift in lead generation and the online toolkit was well received by the dentists.
